In a groundbreaking discovery, NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has identified potential chemical signatures indicative of alien life on a distant exoplanet. The telescope detected unusual traces of methane and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of K2-18b, a planet located 120 light-years away in the habitable zone of its star.

Scientists believe these gases, combined with hints of dimethyl sulfide, could indicate biological activity, although further investigation is required to rule out non-biological sources.

“This is a significant step in our quest to answer the age-old question: Are we alone in the universe?” said Dr. Alice Hartwell, a lead researcher on the project.

NASA plans follow-up observations to confirm the findings, which could reshape our understanding of life beyond Earth.
